Product Description 3M Disc Pad Hub has an internal threaded metal insert that threads onto the shaft of a sander and grinder to hold a disc pad face plate and fiber disc in place. From the Manufacturer The 3M™ Disc Pad Hub 45205 has a metal insert that threads onto the shaft of a standard rotary sander or right angle grinder to hold a fiber disc face plate and fiber disc in place. The 2-1/2" diameter hub holds a 4" face plate as well as larger face plates where more flexibility is needed, up to a 7" diameter. The rigid disc pad hub holds the face plate firmly in position to support a fiber disc with a 7/8" center hole, which is secured to the hub with a compatible retainer nut (both sold separately). The disc pad hub enables operators to select face plates with four different densities—Soft, Medium, Hard and Extra-Hard—offering the convenience of using a single power tool for multiple grinding applications.The hub has 5/8-11 internal threads that fit onto a standard 5/8-11 threaded shaft typically found on larger sanders and grinders (where the shaft is 5/8" long with 11 threads per inch).
